A New Beginning on My Birthday

This year, I gave myself a different kind of birthday gift—one that doesn’t come wrapped in paper or tied with a bow. I gave myself a blog, a space to pour my heart into and share what God has been stirring within me. It’s more than just a creative outlet; it’s a new beginning, a way to continue serving women in the way He’s calling me to now. For so long, I’ve felt a pull to create something that encourages, uplifts, and brings beauty and purpose into everyday life—and now, here it is, blossoming right before my eyes.

As I sat and reflected on what I wanted this next year of life to look like, I felt the Holy Spirit whisper, “Start where you are.” Not when things are perfect, not when the timing seems right, but now. This blog is my “yes” to that calling. It’s a way to keep showing up for women who are doing their best to balance faith, home, and heart—because I’ve been there, and I still am. I want this space to be a safe corner for inspiration, guidance, and real conversations about womanhood, motherhood, homemaking, and faith.

For years, I’ve helped women through different seasons—behind a camera, at events, in community gatherings, and through small acts of service. Each season had its own beauty and purpose, but I knew deep down that God was shaping me for something new. This new platform feels like a continuation of that same mission—just expressed differently. Instead of holding space through a lens or a room full of women, I’m holding space through words, devotionals, and homemaking resources that reach far beyond my town.

There’s something sacred about stepping into a new chapter with both excitement and surrender. I don’t know all the details of where this will lead, but I have faith that God does. He’s been faithful through every twist and turn, through every idea that bloomed and every door that closed. I can see now how each piece—my photography, my love for homemaking, my passion for ministry—was preparation for this exact moment.

This season feels softer. It’s not about striving but about abiding. It’s about trusting that God’s plans are far greater than my own and that He can use even the smallest acts of obedience to create something meaningful. My hope is that this blog becomes a light—a gentle reminder to other women that they are not alone in the quiet moments of faith, the messy moments of motherhood, or the slow rebuilding seasons of life.

As I turn another year older, I’m filled with gratitude for how God has carried me here. The past few years have been full of lessons—some beautiful, some painful—but all purposeful. I’ve learned that growth doesn’t always happen in grand ways. Sometimes it’s found in the quiet decision to keep going, to keep believing, to keep trusting that God is still working.

Through The Golden Nook blog, I want to share more than words—I want to share hope. I want to encourage women to fall back in love with their homes, to find joy in simplicity, to reconnect with their faith, and to nurture the small, sacred rhythms that bring peace. From homemaking tips and faith reflections to creative projects and devotionals, this space will hold a little bit of everything that makes life meaningful.

So, here’s to a new year, a new beginning, and a renewed hope for the future. I don’t know exactly what lies ahead, but I know who goes before me. And that’s enough. This birthday gift to myself is really just a gift back to Him—a way of saying, “Use me, Lord, wherever You need me.”

If you’ve found your way here, I’m so glad you did. My prayer is that each post leaves you feeling seen, encouraged, and inspired to keep walking faithfully in your own story. This is just the beginning, and I can’t wait to see all that God will do from here.
